Ideas for a Low-Key Bachelor Party

If you are in process of planning a bachelor party or need to in the near future, this article is for you. A lot of times you hear about bachelor parties being wild, and typically involve strip clubs or trips to places like Las Vegas or Atlantic City. However, not everyone likes wild parties or the nightlife.

 

Here are a few low-key bachelor party ideas for you and your friends:

 

  1. Camping: If the groom-to-be is an avid outdoorsmen, he may like to go camping for his bachelor party. Camping is a great outdoors activity. Get some tents, rent some campsites and go for a weekend. You can go hiking, fishing, canoeing, or just sit at the campfire telling stories and roasting marshmallows.
  2. Barbeque: Get the guys together and have an old fashioned barbeque. Having a cook out is a very low key but cool way to celebrate the groom-to-be. Grill or smoke a variety of meats and either make sides like potato salad or baked beans or pick them up at the store. You can play lawn bowling, badminton, or just chill out, relax and have a beer while having a good chat.
  3. Fishing/Hunting:

Fishing and Hunting are great outdoor activities, that are low-key and the thrill of the sport can make it fun. You can stay at a hunting lodge or camp out to make it an overall experience. Plus, with hunting you can eat your catch/kill for dinner.

  1. Whitewater Rafting:

Whitewater rafting is a bit adventurous, but is a fun way to spend a day. Working together paddling through the rapids can make for a great bonding experience and you can create some great memories. If you have to travel a little to get somewhere you can do this, make some overnight arrangements like a hotel or get a campsite.

  1. Poker Night:

If the groom-to-be is more of a homebody, you may just want to arrange for a poker night at someone’s house. Get a card table, a deck of cards, some chips, order some pizza, have some snacks and beer and you are all set for a fun night in.

  1. Sports Game:

If the groom-to-be is a big sports nut, you may want to arrange for a group of friends to go to his favorite sports game. Whether it is football, baseball, basketball, etc. Sports can be great entertainment, and can make for a great bonding experience.

 

Be sure to consider the personality of the groom-to-be and take into consideration budgets when planning the party or get a way. Make sure you have a plan in place for transportation, entertainment, food, drinks and lodging if necessary.
